At The Wash House, we’ve always been a mission-driven company. Every day, we take pride in providing our guests a clean, safe, and comfortable place to do laundry.

But, we want to invest in our community too. We not only want our guests to feel good about the clothes they wear, but about how much we put back into the communities of Elizabeth City, Hertford, and Edenton.

Literacy is one of the most important skills anyone will ever learn. Reading only a few minutes per day can change someone’s life.

This is why we’ve partnered with Perquimans County 4-H to provide reading stations in all of our locations.

People matter, and helping people develop critical life skills matters. This is why we’ve partnered with Perquimans County 4-H, providing reading rooms at all 4 of our locations.

It is about more than entertainment, it is about helping children develop skills that will follow them throughout their life.

BOTTOM 10% of reading scores in standardized testing.

5 minutes of reading per day =

MIDDLE 50% of standardized testing.

5 minutes of reading per day =

TOP 10% of all standardized test scores.
